My Wii is currently 3.2E and I'd like to keep it there if possible. I know not to update via Internet, but updates are also on game discs. So, is there a list of which games have which updates on their discs?

No. The highest is firmware version 3.3U.

I'd also like to find a list of which games contain which firmware.

    Thanks for the tip.

    edit:

I don't know why but my Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles wiiware game and Dr. Mario RX both reboot back to the wii menu upon launching them.

I though it was because I had 3.1, but now I updated to 3.2 using semibrick fixer and still the same problem.
I wonder if This method of updating isn't a 100% upgrade or something.

There's a program called "Wiizle Shiizle Diizle" which shows you if the ISO has updates or not.
    Just google for it [IMG]

There are 2 version of 3.2

I have the 1st one, without WiiWare support and shop channel can't run.

Does the semi-brick update by bushing has the 1st or 2nd 3.2 ?
WUM does contain the bushing update (names 3.2_b), I will try it.

    Edit :
    it's 3.2E/U/J_Version1 only [IMG]
    it doesn't update to WiiWare.

Updates are on WiFi games and most, if not all, Nintendo games. If you get a game from a third-party developer and it's not on WiFi, then it won't have an update on the disc.

Thanks for the replies so far. I haven't got a modchip so I cannot run "Wii Update Manager" or "Wiizle Shiizle Diizle" over any ISOs - I'm talking about genuine shop-bought discs. I was hoping that someone had compiled a list somewhere of which discs have which updates, so that I can make my own decisions about which discs to avoid.

For example, when I put in my Okami disc which my wife had kindly bought for me, it wanted to do an update. I would have preferred not to, but I let it do it as she bought it for me as a present and I had said that I wanted it. Luckily, it didn't seem to have update me past 3.2, but if there was a list that I could have consulted beforehand, that would be excellent, to prevent such worries in the future. I wonder why Okami had an update, given that the game is third-party and not Wifi?

Nobody's started such a list on a wiki or anything?

Updated on discs can't take you anywhere on the firmware thing because the updates a too big. The updates on the games are small and only do something to let the game play properly. A disc will not take you up to 3.3.

Watch Nintendo do it now with Wario Land...

I'm not on a mission to debunk everything you post on the forum tonight (cos I commented on your post in the Bushing thread as well) but plenty of Wii game disks have full updates on them, some even include updates to the channels. However, there isn't a game with the 3.3 update on yet because of the length of time they take to go through Q&A and pressing, distribution etc. But rest assured, the complete 3.3 update will find it's way onto the Nintendo developed titles reasonably soon. More to the point, you think an IOS update is too big to put on a DVD but small enough to download in a reasonable timeframe? The updates are tiny - if you want confirmation of this, pick apart the first partition of a major N! release in Trucha Signer and have a look for yourself.

It is kept up to date, yes. It's an official site for the Wii Update manager, so every time a new game is released, it will be checked and out on there. It's Nuke anyway, and he's reliable.
