Earlier in the sexy Coackroachman's thread, we heard that Nintendo were re-releasing the Wii version of Pikmin & Donkey Dokey Jungle Beat, now more titles have been announced.

    Chibi-Robo
    Mario Power Tennis
    Metroid Prime
    Metroid Prime 2.

Not much is known about this. Will they be on Wii discs or GC discs? I doubt they will involved WiiMote controls but it would be nice to be able to play with the classic controller as the GC lead is too short. Would be really great if they released a new Wireless controller for it.

Nothing has been said about pricing, they should be less than budget Wii titles (remember some Cube titles have already been ported with Wii controls).

Hmm...interesting. Why are they reviving all these GCN games? Happened with Resident Evil 0 and 1... although, why am I complaining? They are slightly better than the GCN version, and I get them for free! [IMG]

I've heard that you would be able to use Wii controls.. but not sure if that's confirmed, also, don't know if the controls would be remade to support motion and pointing (that would be wonderful for Metroid and Mario Tennis) or they'll just remap the buttons like Capcom done with Resident Evil 0. :/

I dunno. I guess it seems like a waste of time, but only if the pull a RE:0 where it's just remapped controls. However, if they add touch controls and motion and whatnot, then that would be amazing.

    New money for old rope?

If its cheap than I welcome it, some of these games could do with getting to a wider audience and at least they (and Capcom) aren't claiming these are all new like Activision did with the Cube port of Pitfall.

    Turn around...
    Mario Tennis?

The only reason to re-release that is motion sensing!

Most likely these games will be re-released on Wii discs and will be upgraded to feature Wii controls (Metroid Prime 1&2 a-la Wii). Think of them as new Wii games. Since the GC and Wii use the same architecture...porting these games is very easy.

“The GameCube conversions will be available across Europe too. However, it’s too early to announce or discuss specific details at this time.” - Nintendo of Europe spokesperson.

"Conversions" that sounds like Wii discs then.

I wonder. In the case of Metroid Prime and Pikmin, would they be able to put both games on a single Wii disc? Compilation/minor port madness!

    It'll probably never happen. D:

Oh man, if the motion controls for the Metroid games are changed to be like Metroid Prime 3, then I am glad I didn't sell my Wii.

Fuck, today is like a million times better than E3

Oh...I would buy Wiimakes of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 actually. One thing that keeps me from playing the gamecube versions again is that I love the control scheme of Metroid Prime 3, and it feels like I'm taking a backwards step when I play MP and MP 2 with the Gamecube controller.

I didn't really like Metroid Prime 2 much, but Metroid Prime 1 is definately one of my favorites. If the controls are re-done, I'll surely buy it.

Nintendo never gets in time for the E3... They do it before the rush of shopping.

Holy shit, finally a sight of Metroid. Who would have thought that. I'm glad they are remade to use the Wii controls, otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

Now announce that damn 2D-Metroid already [IMG]

I still would like the pairs of games put onto a single disc. Because A) the Wii discs can hold a lot more data and it's possible and B) less cost to those of us who actually still buy games. =P

But why do I have a feeling that's not going to happen?
