Meh, never been a fan of these "limited edition" consoles. If they decided to go with a different color scheme (something involving black and white, don't be a smart ass and say "gray") and not the engravings then it'd be much more appealing.

And is it only DSi consoles or are they doing DSi XL's as well?

Haha, these are nice but it's somewhat clear they've taken unsold black/white models and simply engraved them.

I'm quite happy with my Metallic Blue DSi now.

Huh? The DSi's they have in stock are already colored so this doesnt help them at all since these a newly produced ones

Repainting is not all that difficult, or even just replacing the outside case and keeping old internals.

You can barely see the design on the white one. The black one looks pretty cool though.
