So i'm most likely to build a pc after this semester, and i'm not sure about what cpu i should get?
another factor of why i should choose which one, is that i'm trying not to spend too much money, but i'm planning to upgrade afterwards

So, the parts i'm getting is:
8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM(DDR4, 2400MHZ,two sticks of 4 GB)
MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING Motherboard (with r6 siege dl code)
    Seagate 1TB HDD
    Cooler Master B700 V2(700w) PSU
Corsair Carbide Spec 1/3 (not sure which one, bcuz spec 3 is on sale a lot here)
    TP-Link TL.WDN4800 Wireless card(Dual Band(2,4 and 5,0 GHZ), three antenna's, 450 MPS)
Cooler Master TX3 Evo Cpu Cooler

    And now, to the CPU
What i am wondering about is which of theese:
Intel core Pentium G4400 (3,3 GHZ, Locked)
Intel core I5 6600K(3,5 GHZ, Boost 3,9 GHZ, Unlocked)

I am planning to get a GPU later, because my main need is a PC. Probably getting a R9 380 4 GB

which one do i get? because i might be a long time till i get to upgrade my cpu, so should i go for the i5?

EDIT:added cpu cooler, i forgot that. and i also changed the ram type(because hyperx fury got a lot more expensive)
EDIT2: Changed mobo to z170a krait gaming because why not pay a little more for a better gaming type mobo and a rainbow 6 siege code

i would go with the i5 6600k, specially because you mentioned it will be a long time for your next cpu upgrade so might as well go for a solid, fast, overclockable cpu and is fairly new.

Likewise, I would go for the i5. A strong CPU and it's integrated graphics should be enough to tide you over until you get a graphics card and make it into a full build.

For those wondering; Why z170? why not B150? Cheaper!
Yes i could buy a B150, but as i said, i am going to buy a Overclockable I5 (6600K) later(if i start with a Pentium), so buying a B150 mobo would be cheaper in the beginnig, but i would have to get a z170 for overclocking the 6600k when i get the new cpu, so it would cost me more in total.

    Definitly go with the i5.
It's a way more stronger CPU than the Pentium.

It depends on whether you're going budget or power. What do you hope to do with this computer?

just buy the i5 now, you are just gonna spend a lot more money buying low end parts now just to fill the gap then upgrading later

The way I'm looking at it though is why pay for extra cores/power if he isn't going to utilize it? If he's doing something CPU intensive I'd say go for the i5, but if he's going to be playing GPU intensive games and doing homework on it then I'd go with the Pentium, since even that should hopefully get him at least through the next generation of processors, maybe longer

The i5 and Pentium can't be compared; they're probably in different leagues. If over clocking isn't in your agenda, you might as well go for a 6600 or 6500 etc

i think it can be compared. like: less power, but good enough at low price, or high power and longer "durability" (future proofing) but high price

I was talking from a purely performance perspective, The i5 might as well be like twice as powerful as the Pentium

Again, what are you planning on using the computer for? My recommendation would differ depending on what its primary use is

my primary use is "normal use" like browsing the internet, romhacks, and i might start video editing of some sort. And later on, unless i have the money to buy everything at once by january, i'll buy a gpu. most likely the r9 380 4 gb. or if i should go for the big score, i'll get a 390(but that probably is too expensive)
EDIT: for storage too, and i might try some programming(most likely for android or c(++?))

If you are going to video edit, then the i5.

As you mentioned the 390 and it being too expensive, if you are not against used. r9 290 are fairly cheap used and offer similar performance to the 390 (390 is pretty much a faster clocked 290 + 8GB vram).

the video editing is not going to be heavy at all. and the r9 290 would be hard to get for me, because i live in a town with just under 4000 people, and ebay would't be an option.

And also, i'm leaning towards the i5, because there is some games that run badly with dual core. (not sure about skylake series)

Get the I5 and if money is bad just hold off a little longer on the GPU

I would without doubt go for the i5. Pentiums are decent enough for budget builds, but if this is something you plan on using long term you might as well build something that will last for quite some time.
