This is a common problem. What happens is the spectrum produced by most common LEDs is nothing like tungsten of sunlight which puts people off, see figure 3:
http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/lightan...urcesintro.html

There are however some LEDs just appearing on the market that very closely mimic natural light (they are damn expensive mind you compared to other LEDs) but prices should drop as they are being pitched to take on the whale hugger bulbs various governments seem to be going for these days:

Personally it does not bother me though. I like LED light.

Edit: A research paper on the subject:

even in the testing area, FAST gives more research than I did on my end of year projects
or more likely he already knew about this from some previous time

It comes as part of semiconductor engineering and the fact I deal occasionally with boats/cars/ places with other low power requirements.

I somehow missed the testing area part though or my reply would have been something like

I like the fact that he took the post seriously. I would happily drop the dime to convert all of my led flash lights to make em "look better" imo. I read the info on the subject and thanks for it but im after everyones opinions. Why do you like the LED ness? it looks like a dull blue to me.

anyone heard of these next gen tvs that use led lights? supposedly they use way less energy than plasma, has better resolution, and cheaper to produce. though they've only made 19 inch screens so far so we gotta wait.
