A bizarre new commercial for the perpetually-leaked (but as yet still unconfirmed) Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has emerged on Norwegian site Droidnytt. Showing the Android mascot with creepy stitched-on human thumbs, the ad proclaims "Android is ready to play".

What's also interesting is that the footage of the device seems to show it running the stock Gingerbread launcher and UI, whereas a leaked prototype obtained by Engadget last month was running Sony's TimeScape UI.

Rumored and leaked since the dawn of time, the Xperia Play is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. Check out the commercial for yourself after the jump.[/p]

Well at least that one won't put people off like a lot of the PS2 (maybe PS3 as well, can't remember) ones did.

PS1(supposedly with a sony-made emulator, perhaps for PSN-PSX games available now for PSP and PS3)
android-playstation games(android games from sony's own app market, which are designed to work best on the xperia play)
    and regular android games.

Sony seems to really like keeping up its long tradition of sucky commercials.

This is Sony Ericsson. They're separeted from Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Sony commercials related to games don't suck since the PS3 and Kevin Butler.

Sure, but the PSP ones still suck! [IMG] That still doesn't exclude the fact that they might use the same advertising company [IMG]

And btw, I didn't find the Butler ones THAT funny. All he did was mocking out the Kinect.

Everyone that I watched didn't sucked, unlike the previous one (I think it was called White Room, or something like that...).

Anyway, care to share the PSP one with us?

I don't really have any interest in the NGP, but I did want to upgrade from my Blackberry to something that ran Android.

If this comes to Verizon, I'd probably get it.

Oh gawd, we do really have to strain this up? It's pretty clear that you like Sony [IMG]

Oh well, here we go with some of the most infamous ones:

These were exactly the ones I said that sucked.

The ones on the "It Only Does Everything" campaign are much better.

BTW, I don't like Sony, I like games in general. If they are good, everyone wins. I just hate trolls.

All the terrible commercials in this topic prove once again that Sony has long since lost their touch when it comes to advertising.

In b4 "White is coming," "Crying baby," "Sony jesus," etc...
