Hello! I've been trying to get the latest version of Pokemon Liquid Crystal to work on my EZ-Flash IV for a while now but only end up with a white screen.

The build notes states that version 3.3.00332 is working for the Ez-Flash IV, and it does.

13/06/2013 02:18:10 3.3.00332 -> 3.3.00333 Unapplied support for EZFlash IV until further notice.
29/03/2013 03:32:09 3.3.00331 -> 3.3.00332 Added support for EZFlash IV when flashing to NOR.

I've tried following what Jerrys123111 has said in this thread

Step 1 : Obtain a CLEAN Pokemon Fire Red ROM(It is AGAINST forum rules to post links to ROMS, you will have to find them yourself).
Step 2 : Download the most recent patch from http://linkandzelda.com/liquidcrystal/download/.
Step 3 : (If you haven't already) Download Lunar IPS : http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/.
Step 4 : Apply the Liquid Crystal patch to the Pokemon Fire Red ROM.
Step 5 : Run the game through VBA and check the build number and make sure it says "Build Number 3.3.00412"(or whatever the current build is).
Step 6 : Download GBATA : http://www.no-intro.org/gbadat/tools/gbata7a-en.zip.
Step 7 : Open the patched ROM in GBATA and go to the header viewer tab. If you look around, you should see a "FIX HEADER" button. If the button is grayed out, then skip this step. If you see it, click on it to fix the games header. This is what usually screws up the EZ-Flash IV.
Step 8 : Send the GBA file that GBATA creates to the miniSD or microSD card through the EZ-Client(available here[choose manual download] :http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/fl...03-f31119.html) as usual. Make sure that "Add Save Patch" is selected and that "Save Size" is selected at 1024K bits.
Step 9 : Play the game on the EZ-Flash IV! When the part about what time it is comes up, say "NO" to trying to look for a RTC again and and say "YES" to playing without RTC.

This isn't working for me. I've checked GBATA and fixed says BAD. Both in the working version and the newest one. The Fix header button is also greyed out.

Does anyone have a working version of the lastet Liquid Crystal for usage on my EZ-Flash or knows how to get this working?

Hi, mate!

I spent nearly 2 weeks trying to figure it out. And I am joined this forum just right now to help you (damn, I am good!).
Basicaly, you need to flash previous firmware (1.720). Here is the link for you (clearlooks theme): http://www.mediafire.com/?fmctvxp34ja5dc7. And... you're done! You don't even need to flash it to NOR to launch.

Unfortunatly, there is another problem:

I am sorry for such a big pictures. I am getting this even if my save type is Flash 128K. Probably, this will disappear after launch through NOR.

UPDATE:
LOL OH MY GOD I AM SO RETARDED! Just patch you ROM through EZ-Flash Tool/Client (save patch or something) and this game will be playable. The only problem rest is RTC. There is no patch (GBATA patch will not work), but author said, that there might be a FTC replacement in future.

UPDATE:
You can't see this game after flashing to NOR. A week ago I had figured out that headers in FireRed and in this hack are a bit different. You need to open this ROM in hex editor and to change some lines.

I am using HxD hex editor. You can get it here: http://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD.

UPDATE:
Ok, just tryed to launch patched version through NOR. Still do not work. I am tired. Will try to find this solution later.

I hope that it was helpful. I am sorry for my English.

You're on to something! I just get a white screen. But why do I need the 1.720 firmware? I got the newer flashcard and I use 1.74 as firmware to be able to write to NOR (Not working on pokemon rom hacks). But the header needs changing?

EDIT: I have now made a rom with the latest patch and will try to edit the header and use a 128k save

EDIT2:
IT'S WORKING! YES! It starts up really clean. No problems so far. The 128k Flash save fixed the game and the header fix got it working on NOR :D

This is really great! Congratulations, dude! Have you launched it on 1.74 firmware? With NOR?

I can't launch it on 1.72 through NOR. There is no game in root folder after flashing game in NOR, even after fixing header. Probably, this is firmware issue. Anyway, I can use PSRAM to play it, it seems more convenient for me.

There is a bug, that hangs your GBA. In Violet City you can exchange your Bellsprout for Onix. When you will try to do that, you will encounter some buggy textures of pokéball, after that your GBA will stop responding. Another exchange in pokémon center is fine, but you can see those buggy textures as well. So be advised, save before every exchange. I will try to launch my save on Virtual Boy Advance to check if this problem stays.

UPDATE:
This "exchange" problem stays even on emulator (as expected).

As always, I am very sorry for my English. It's painful for me to imagine you trying to read this.

Are you sure that you have the old version of the flash card? Can you write other games to NOR?

Your english isn't that bad :) and thanks for the trade/exchange save headsup!
