Hacking Latest firmware

So my 3ds is on 11.7. It has b9s with lume for 11 7. I have used freeshop at some point. What would be the best method to update and not get banned? Or should i just wait for now?

Just update, you won't get banned just for updating to 11.8. They only added a check at the tickets being installed via sleep mode and haven't banned anyone since adding this check. Plus freeShop is slowly dying since Nintendo locked down first party games and chances are high that all games will start to follow.

Your choice, since it's just replacing one file (which can be done on a PC) it can be done in any order
