Hundreds of Beavers. Much respect to the filmmaking and the unique fusion of silent era movies, old slapstick comedy and cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, and even some deliberate video game references. But it's a case of style over substance and it runs too long. It should've been less than 90 minutes.

Try 2, they got a Wolverine one too :rofl2:

Movie was fucking great... Go see it EVERYONE!!
The Wolverine one was just a 3D render / concept art by some guy. The actual promo Xbox comes with two Deadpool butts. And two (foam) katanas!

Snack Shack. Decent little teen coming-of-age comedy set in 1991. Recommended if you like certain Richard Linklater comedies like Dazed and Confused. The movie takes a surprising tonal shift that worked in its favor.

Went to Twisters in the theater last Sunday. Trash story line although the storm scenes and the audio during them was worth the $5 admission.

Just finished MaXXXine. I really enjoyed both X and Pearl but this was a very disappointing end to the trilogy for me. Fell asleep a couple times and had to restart where I left off.

Arcadian. Mediocre post-apocalyptic horror movie starring Nic Cage, who is gone for about half of the movie. Terrible camera work and unimpressive monsters.

Hong Kong Godfather, literally bloody good fun. Never knew Shaw Brothers made contemporary movies. I found out about this movie through an IG clip showing a kid getting thrown out the window. Hilarious, but the movie was serious for the most part. Still a thrill.

Ti West's X trilogy. X was a great 70s inspired slasher, though it moved too slow for me. Pearl was fantastic and the best of the trilogy, Mia Goth acted her ass off. MaXXXine was a letdown, trailed off in the 3rd act and a case of style over substance. Kevin Bacon stole the show though and it's still a good movie overall.

Dune part 2. Main reason we picked it this weekend was that my spouse needed cheering up and wanted to ogle Zendaya, so it achieved that goal while also providing some flashy popcorn entertainment.

Her: you'll never lose me, as long as you stay you
Him: *immediately changes profoundly* 🤷

Jackpot. Decent Action/Comedy starring Awkwafina and John Cena. I'll just say if you don't like any of those actors, this movie won't change your mind, they do their thing here. Simu Liu was entertaining in this as well.

X-Men. First time watching any X-Men movie, thus first time watching Hugh Jackman as Wolverine do his thing. It was dated, corny in places, Mystique spamming her ability got annoying, the CG is meh, but the cast really sold it for me. Ian McKellan as Magneto was awesome. Jackman was so cool. The gravitas and poise of handicapped Patrick Stewart were strong, and other cast members were nice. Plus it's surprisingly short for a comic book movie. It all comes out to be a fun movie.
