hey, first question on askgbatemp!!
so 2 days ago my laptop overheats and turns off. it has done this in the past so i left it for an hour or so to cool down. i try again, it boots and after i log on it overheats again. i decided to leave it til the next day and i try again, overheats just as i turn it on. now i have a fan permanently next to it to keep it ventilated, if i turn it off the laptop can last a few minutes before overheating. i knew then it was a problem with the fan inside the laptop. any ideas about what i can do? my laptop is a toshiba satellite L350D with win7 on. it originally came with vista but i have had 7 for a few months so it shouldnt be anything to do with the software, but the hardware. is there any way i can force the fan inside the laptop to stay on without opening the laptop? if i cant do anything by monday it should be getting taken to a laptop repair centre or something but i dont want to pay for something i could fix myself :P any help would be greatly appreciated :)

This may sound stupid but just to make sure...When my Wii fan was broken and kept overheating, I realized I had to take it to Nintendo....but before sending it I poked at the fan and comes to find out it was just jammed. So after I poked it, it became unstuck and started working again.....you could just make sure its not jammed if you've ever dropped the laptop (which is what happened to my Wii)
