+1. I agree. A game console should be used for games while a phone is for everything else. I personally think the two should never cross which is why i personally HATE the xperia play |:

+1 to voice chat, hopefully also in-game (like in the heat of battle) and not just in lobby. can 3DS wifi support 4way (or more) voice chat though while also streaming game data?

Doesn't StarFox 64 do video chat 4 way using local instead of internet Wi-Fi? I'm sure it can.

Well yes, but for local Wireless.
Pokemon used voice chat via WiFi.
But what we need is a voice chat no in-game related

Yes. Similar to the local xtransiver of pokemon black and white.

I said local!

Anyway local/wifi doesn't matter, using the same Wi-Fi chip, the only thing you have to worry about is lag and I'm sure Nintendo have improved the Wi-Fi chip used from the DSi, not to mention I heard 3DS has a CPU dedicated to network communication etc.

Yeah voice chat needs to be enabled from the friends list.

It's funny how pokemon games and only few others only included Voicechat in game for the DS line. However none of the 3DS titles have voicechat like WTF. Streetfighter, DOA, RE:M....

Yeah, it is annoying. The lack of social features is most noticeable when you're trying to play a game with a buddy but...well, there's no real way to hook up with them unless you first get on the Internet and contact them. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of friend play in games like Mercs 3D. It would be so much simpler (like on PS3/360) to just message a buddy if they're online and invite them into your game.

If I had to guess, though, I'd say Nintendo are simply sticking with what has been their niche for many years: selling the perception to parents that Nintendo systems are safe havens for children. And Nintendo has been very successful in selling that perception. We might not like it as older gamers who want those other features, but then, we're not the ones they're truly marketing to.

Well,I try to share some others complaints and this is what I got.

QUOTE
Hello,

When we created the Nintendo 3DS, we wanted this system to appeal to a variety of players from seven years old and over. However, in terms of voice chat, messaging, and social networks, these features are not found on the system. So in those terms, it may not appeal to most adults.

I can certainly understand your thoughts on this matter, so I want to assure you that your comments will be forwarded to the appropriate departments here at Nintendo so they know what are fans are saying.

Yes, it is real. Try contacting them yourself.

... Why would I put a fake one on here.

I must agree. Some social features would be great like messaging or chat. Screw facebook and google plus and myspace though I cannot stand when those services get intergrated when we do not need them on there. Also Skype would be pretty cool
