Even the models look sub-par. They're based on in-game models from the original and not the original concept arts.

Oh and the Gamecube had actual perspective correction and used floating point math for polygons, so you didn't have the infamous jitter/warping in PSX games, but I could on. PSX games look bad when scaled up, but different strokes for different folks I guess.

It's fixable though with some emulators (PCSXR-PGXP for example). The only problem I have with it is that it's limited to 30 FPS, compared to the PC version\TTS which run at 60.

I know, PXPG hacking that forces perspective correction and subpixel precision, but not every game works with it and others are broken. But the models still look bad when scaled up.

I kinda like the low-poly look at high-resolutions. With some games it looks bad, for sure, but I always felt like MGS scales up pretty decently, since the models are pretty much a translation in 3D of the concept arts and are so much stylized

No man, the inbuilt Gamecube inside a Wii. That's what I meant.

MGS1 Twin Snake is like retelling the story of MGS1 from Otacon's perspective (or someone who likes to exagerate things)

I personally liked the silly goofiness that Twin Snakes had to offer. It didn't take itself so seriously all the time like the original did. (Not to say the original is worse, however.)

My biggest complain with Twin Snakes are the absolutely stupid cutscenes. The first Cyborg Ninja cutscene is a bad joke.

And of course the MGS2 engine/gameplay breaks the game. But that's a minor issue compared to the painful cutscenes.

I didn't say that TTS isn't even more. Also, the original is a better game.

Well, Subsistence should definitely be ported as the definitive MGS 3.

The 2002 package was only for PC. It never released on consoles, and has no connection to newer incarnations of the games.

I find it a little weird GOG didn't give the MS-DOS versions as an option.

This is great news! But with better graphics, do they mean a remake? Or are these the original games with enhanced graphics and additional features like SM64 from Super Mario 3D All-Stars?

I've been playing MGS2 HD Edition for PS Vita! How cool is that? :P

Can't wait to check these new versions for PC.

Considering that these are the original PC ports I wouldn't touch these ports for anything. Play the originals even if you need to use an emulator.

Well, then it makes the PS/PS2 emulator versions a lot more desirable and there's filters to make them HD-ish even.

Come to think of it, surprised Konami didn't just use the PS1 PC emulated version and sold that. Sorta like Nintendo with the SM3DAS.
