Don't know if this is the right place, but I am also having a trouble with freezing in this game.
The freeze, however, appears extremely late into the game, after defeating the final boss in EX mode (which is like the Hard Mode you unlock after beating the regular game) and playing the final cutscene, the games just gets stuck in a white screen, just when the EX credits would show up
This is in the lastest USB Loader GX

In Settings:

Exit To: Default
Return To Channel: Disabled
Just wanted to share that I got it working without disabling return to channel feature

Edit: sorry for bumping an old thread, but this is what popped up when searching for issues related to this game

I changed a lot of the game specific settings from "global" to "off" or "default" or "disabled"

Same solution as I had to recently apply for Just Dance 2. In that thread there was no mention of having to disable the return to channel setting, and it worked for me with this still enabled, so I tried leaving it enabled for kirby and low and behold it worked as well

In general at what point does it usually fail? I want to check this game before I give the Wii away.

Edit: But I, of course, cannot face playing it all. I'm 36...

I wasn't sure if I had the game, but apparently, I did. I have 23% in it, so I must've played it on the wii (tested it on the vwii). for me, it seemed to freeze right after selecting start with button 2. I managed to get it working by doing what @XFlak did, disabling or setting to default all options that could be. no issues then. I didn't change "return to" either. game works (tried a second time), and exiting exits to usb loader gx, so I think I've got it.

Don't forget, that a lot of default patches were not applied by default back in the day. So it may have just worked out of the box with an older version of the loader. I suspect this happened to me too, as I had a game save with 10% progress or something as well.

Back in the day I was using CFG usb-loader, now I'm using GX, so that may also be a factor. Either way, it's an easy fix :)

same for me, I was also using cfg usb loader on the normal wii. I don't think I had played it at all on the vwii, so I was unaware of the problem. ;)

I just played about 10 minutes of it and it seemed to work. That's with it being loaded for the first time on the most recent WiiFlowLite, i.e. I do not have an old setup that's been messed about with. Quite a good game actually. If the Wii could do 720p it would be sweet.

I think it's mostly a usb loader gx issue, since I think it has more options. global settings are not a good idea with the game. it could be as simple as nand emulation that it has a problem with. I know that skyward sword doesn't like it = black screen.

I'm nervously thinking about getting an EmuNand (ideally an NTSC one on my PAL Wii) setup today within 2 hours. But why would people load Wii games from an EmuNand? What's the benefit of that, because Wii games don't take up space in the small real NAND. Maybe I misunderstood you.

I guess so that it's easier to manage your saves. I have partial emulation set as a global setting.

Fair enough. Making regular backups would work around this -> but I'd trust the save less on a mechanical HDD that on the Wii's flash memory.

Presumably you can save it to the SD card though via emulation. *facepalm*

Bumping because just like XFlak said:
sorry for bumping an old thread, but this is what popped up when searching for issues related to this game

Yesterday got the game, and it wasn't starting via SD with CFG USB LOADER.

Using a SD/USB adapter I managed to play the first and second stage.
Oddly enough, in the second stage, after changing Kirby's Ability, the music started to fade out and the WarpStar cutscene loaded to black screen.
A reboot of the game seemed to have fixed that as I managed to complete that stage too. Haven't tested it further as I'm assuming it should work.

But I can't find proper information on two things:

- Is there any fix to load the game off an SD card?
- How to disable Anti Piracy Measures? Maybe an Ocarina CheatCode that disables it?

That last one... I'm not proud of it. :shy:

EDIT: By the way, I have my IOS Loading to Auto and it's working nice.
