You should test with other games to see if a similar thing can happen, or just in this game.
Will do. So far, I've played some Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros. 2, and I haven't had any stability problems.
See if it's the streetpass data.
I actually didn't make Streetpass data for the game.

I was thinking before that Robobot might be an "extended memory mode" game (which are known in certain circumstances to cause unique issues), but I checked just now and that is not the case – just in case anyone else is thinking that.

So, does that mean you don't have Streetpass enabled in the game's main menu, and that you also don't see it in the relevant panel of System Settings?

Correct. I went and checked just to make sure.

Shucks, I thought there might have been something there. It was such an intriguing idea.

This is a puzzle. A quick search does suggest you might not be the first person to have this problem – possibly without even having CFW installed. (On that basis I would suggest not trying the aforementioned safety test since it seems unlikely to help.)

Perhaps it could be worth trying the demo from the eShop? (There was a time when a placeholder icon for the demo was automatically distributed by Spotpass – trying to start it up would just prompt you to connect to the eShop to download the demo. Maybe that could be related?)

Intriguing. I'm going to be busy for the rest of the night, so I'll definitely try this out tomorrow.

Do you have GodMode9 installed? If so boot that up, go to Gamecart (), select the full .3ds file, it should be 1GB, click NCSD options, then verify file. See if that passes.
I had a copy of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS awhile back that would run on non-hacked 3DS units, but not hacked ones. And the verification failed early on. Also try turning off the Luma exception handler under it's settings, if it fails.

"Verification failed."
Uh-oh. Looks like you might be onto something here. I wouldn't be too surprised if this means I might need to get a new copy of the game... I'll get around to toggling the Luma exception handler tomorrow.

Tried it, and both stages were fully playable without crashes.

Yep. What that means is most likely your cart is corrupted. Disabling exception handlers made the game go for slightly longer in my case, but would still crash after a while. I'm curious to see in your case what happens.

But it can't just be the cart. Otherwise, why would it work on the other 3DS? It seems the only possibility is some kind of contact issue.

This also raises the question: if Godmode9 is used to verify the cart on the other 3DS, will the verification succeed there? (Note that you can run Godmode9 on a 3DS without CFW if you have an ntrboot cart.)

Another useful question is if the game works if you install it from a CIA from "elsewhere" – but of course then you can't be certain if the CIA is necessarily good.

Verification doesn't succeed there either. I don't know why it works on a non-hacked 3DS, but it does. It by all means shouldn't.

From my experience, downloading it from another site made the game run perfectly.

And as a last note, I have 4 CFW 3DSes, and 2 stock ones. All 4 of the CFW ones failed to play the game, and one stock failed, one ran it fine for over 6 hours. This was back almost 2 years ago when I tried it with my copy of Smash 3DS.

Clean the contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol, then dump it to .3ds again and verify the checksum against no-intro. You only need to get one clean read from the cart, so if it's only flakey and not 100% dead, there's still hope.

Definitely gonna try this tomorrow. I'll report back once I get around to it.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I’m seeing this myself on 6-2, and potentially after getting the Spark ability. It’s happening every single time with Spark after leaving the third room, and sometimes later in the level. What’s weirdest is that I managed to complete the level prior, but went back in to get the last Code Cube and now I’m seeing this continuously

Well, that's interesting. And it's the same error as in the first post?

Have you tried deleting and re-downloading the game?

Maybe it's a Luma bug after all. Unfortunately it's going to be practically impossible to fix if there's no reliable way of duplicating it.
