Anyway to check where it is made in?

Edit: Found a guy on SD that said that he called Meritline and confirmed it is JAPAN made.

BTW people have been listing R/W speeds. This shop has listed it in its features:

    # Features: Capacity: 1 GB
    # Standardized: complies with SD card specification standards
    # Versatile: when combined with the included adapter, can be used as a full-size SD card
    # Interoperable: with SD slot via SD adapter and with TransFlash - enabled devices
    # Dimensions: 11mm x 15mm x 1mm)
    # Speed Rating: 8.8 MB/sec. read, 6.5 MB/sec write
    # Operating Temperature: 0 ° to 60 ° C / 32 ° to 140 ° F
    # Storage Temperature: -20 ° to 85 ° C / -4 ° to 185 ° F
    # Ultra-Portable: extremely small footprint design
    # Guaranteed: lifetime warranty

Also, the Adata one seems to still be instock and selling for the same price with free shipping as well.

I got one a week ago for the same price, it was a Japanese made card, and I was pleasantly surprised with how fast the free shipping was, it got here after 3 days.

Just curious, where abouts do you live? I think the store is located in California from reading their website info and i'm afraid it might take a while to get here for me since i live in Calgary, Alberta. I think my purchase was processed today so i'm dreaming of it coming by friday but realistically expecting it sometime late next week. But if you live somewhat far away too, that would be a good thing for my chances of it coming quick!

Good advice, but as someone else said, Meritline is a reputable store, as is ordering directly from Kingston. They had/have HUGE DISCOUNT PRICE ON ALL FLASH MEDIA!!

    Thanks for the reply jhoff80.

Has anyone run into any problems with meritline so far? Since i didn't notice any complaints on this site i went ahead with the order, but after reading their website's forum, there was a massive amount of complaints about shipping problems and customer service. I am somewhat scared now, but hopefully they managed to fix most of their problems since the last complaint i saw was a post about 3 weeks ago.

i got both an a-data and kingston made in japan from meritline. they are not fake as i did the benchmarks and got the correct numbers. i don't know if they have both taiwan and japan kingstons but they have a box for special instructions/comments when ordering and i made sure to stress that they send me one made in japan or don't send it at all. everything went well and I recieved it in 3 days (i live in michigan).

    i highly recommend meritline.

They do. Buy I guess if you specifically ask for a Japanese one (and providing they have them in stock), they should be kind enough to get you one.

My brother bought one and it was made in Japan. Now my sister order 2 last week so we should get it by tomorrow. I'll post back to see which one she got.

BTW, where or what program to benchmark the cards?
