Personally I think Microsoft & Sony should have stuck to what they do best, which is targeting the more serious gaming market and left the casual gaming to Nintendo.

I have a Kinect but I hardly use it. It's mainly because the games get repetitive quickly.

I have the feeling that this is the case with a lot of people. They got it, it was a fun novelty for a while, but there's not much to keep it going.

It's just like the Wii. You get it, you play some stuff while standing up and swinging the Wiimote around.
Then a while after that you find yourself lying in your ass barely flicking the remote.

Videogames are meant to be played while sitting, with no much physical effort. However, being a new gimmick, it sold well and then bored people. Just as it will happen with 3D in the 3DS.
Not just like wii. It was built for it not just some add on with no controls.

All motion games didn't required you to stand, but motion (of course not alone) in the remote still was good with game play.

The 3D to me isn't just some gimmick.

What do you mean with that?

Sure, Nintendo is more casual friendly but Sony and Microsoft don't have exactly a huge variety of game styles.

I don't know about you but I don't consider a console with 70% First/Third Person Shooters one targeting "serious gaming"

So, you're saying that a casual gamer like members of my family would enjoy playing First/Third Person shooters? How would you compare the Wii to the Xbox 360 and PS3 then?

It all depend on one's definition of a casual gamer, and believe me, there are thousands of definitions out there.

Some believe that First/Third person shooters are for the "casual" crowd, because it's so "pick up and play" friendly.

Others believe that playing games such as Bejeweled and Farmville define one as a Casual Gamer.

Others still define anyone that doesn't play the hardest of the hardcore games on the highest difficulty a Casual Gamer.

No. I'm saying that just Shooters isn't a more serious market.

He saying the wii variety in type of gamers where as ps3/xbox 360 goes towards "hardcore gamers".

"Hardcore/serious gamers" will prefer shooters as a serious game than anything else.

Edit: A lot of clarity. Basely what he said.

Al tho to me serious/hardcore gamers doesn't mean majority shooters.

What the hell....

Why did it sell so well? Without any good game sit is a joke.

The ONLY thing making it interesting is the user created things. People creating their own motion controls for PC games.

THAT is pretty sweet.

I have to admit, you can do some cool stuff with it, but it in no way involves playing games on the 360 and Kinect.

Somebody should make an emulator with Kinect Support for SNES. I would LOVE to swing an imaginary bat and smash some Red Antoids, Electro Spector, and Mischievous Moles.
