Hardware Kinect power adapter - Will this one hurt my older 360?

Hey there,

I want to connect my Kinect to my older Xenon 360.

I found the following power adapter for it: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/enhanced-power-saver-transfer-adapter-for-xbox-360-kinect-sensor-71759

Does anyone know if this is bad for my 360?
As in will the added power draw from the 360 itself cause my XBOX to burn up faster, more likely for RROD, or anything like that?

If so, I'll just get an adapter that plugs into an outlet.

I'd be leery of anything that plugs between the power adapter and the system itself like that.

IIRC, that's how some of the old 3rd party cooling fans burned up the systems

Thanks for the reply.

I think that was due to the fans actually blocking the flow of air and the fans themselves working against the 360 fans.

What I'm worried about is like... if the additional power draw causes additional strain or heat.

Shouldn't draw to much power.

Xenon powerbricks are 203w max iirc.
That doesn't mean that Xenon consoles draw 200+w of power.

It's safe to hook up ;]
Just don't block the airflow as you already said.
