Maybe you could make the games read-only by right-clicking on them in Windows. You can't do this to the save files though, or the game won't be able to save. The R4 might ignore the read-only attribute. I don't know, try it.

I don't think so, but I'm positively sure that a 4 year-old can learn to press A to boot games. Tell your friend to explain why he shouldn't press X instead of A and I'm sure the kid'll eventually get it right

Yeah, that happend to me quite a few times.. Oh well, you cant do anything about it with the R4. Only solution is to use different flashcart.
Or try to teach that kid to not press the X button in the R4 menu.(dont think it will work with a 4 years old kid).

I had the same problem with my 5 year old nephew.
So i leanred him to press the a button.

Great grammar right there lol..
And like somebody else suggested the previous firmware thing might be a good idea, as long as his games work it'll be fine until you teach him to press the A button instead of the X button.

Oh sorry.. I forgot to recommend one other thing.

Tear out your X button and take out the little sensor thing under it.

Well my 2 yr old (3 in a month) can turn on my M3 Real and choose (out of 50 or so games), the crayola drawing/puzzle game, or the the interactive story games, and then navigate the ingame menus to the parts she likes! So I figure if she can and wants to do it, then shes old enough. Only problem that I see is that I'm gonna get my ass whupped on games when she reaches about 7 or 8 !
