My kid updated my wii to 4.3. I was just about to get into the homebrew stuff and now this!!???

Is there any hopes for us that are running just a modchip to downgrade?

I have ssbb but have read that it requires you to have had some kind of softmod installed before the update. Is this true or not?

Just a thought...

Be careful when downgrading (not everyone recommend doing this, therefore, make sure you have the right non-stub IOS installed for the target system menu, since updating through SM 4.3 may stub some IOS used for prior SM versions), or just wait until hackmii installer working again for SM 4.3

With what downgrade exploit exactly?
cboot2 using WAD manager to uninstall the stub IOS70

then installing an unstubbed IOS70 along with the SM 4.2

should work no?

No. How would you get cboot2 if you can't install the homebrew channel?

Sure it does, but only if you manage to get it installed first (or before updating). Which is impossible with the current Hackmii Installer.

Talking about a fresh 4.3, of course. If you had some old cIOS installed in some arbitrary slot that wasn't stubbed, you can do anything at that point.

No, the hackmii installer doesn't work as the current exploit was patched, and it deletes the HBC every time the system is started. Currently, there is no way to do anything that writes to the FS using homebrew. You can still run any homebrew that doesn't use the NAND and doesn't require a cIOS using StackSmash, but that doesn't let you do much. Until we see a new Hackmii Installer and hopefully a new TBR people on 4.3 are stuck. New Hackmii installer should hapen in the next week or so, and a new TBR will hopefully happen in the near future as well. Just wait for now.
