they need to wait baby and test it b4 release

Its highly probable that this is based on smhax access, which is nonexistent in >3.0.1, so testing it is irrelevant for 4.0.0 as you do not have a spring-board off of which to jump.

But isnt that a bad thing for the scene? I mean i doubt that they pay if you release your findings anyway...
Surely that's not such a good thing for the community though ? Or do I have this wrong ?

Its good for him and his skills, and that's what matters for someone with his talents.

I can't help laughing of people saying they are glad they stayed on 3.0.0 or a lower firmware. I'm yet to see a console which newer and older fw versions weren't somehow cracked/exploited to run homebrew.

There's still a long way until we get homebrew also there might be some other newer fw versions that might be exploitable.

Just have patience and we'll all be blessed with homebrews and stuff just let devs do their work
You can't base a certain consoles' progression on other consoles' shit. I mean, look at the PS3. Don't laugh. It makes you look foolish.

Its a (funny) technicality, but since Nintendo now uses HackerOne, you could see Daeken as an transitive employee of Nintendo! :ninja:

He's a ninja now!

I agree about the unappreciative kids, but I don't think that's the reason why devs are leaving the scene D:

As white hacking becomes more and more potentially profitable and worthwhile, more and more will hack devs consider it as a viable career opportunity or additional revenue source.

Idk anymore, whats next "The Nintendo Switch Rocket Firmware Fuel has been dumped and launched!"
Somehow I'm reminded of those Minecraft Modpacks that have a constant progression system to get X Item at this point or to progress faster in the game.

Just complaining because everyone else is complaining, I might as well join the fray.

But then again I'm not a hacker or a developer of software so I mean; goodjob?

The tweet doesn't specify which firmware the exploit was for. And last I checked there were two teams working on switch. Reswitched is working exclusively on 3.0.0 for now, but plutoo isn't part of that team and the other team had been fairly quite about their work. So who knows they may be working on newer firmwares while reswitched is working on developing and polishing 3.0 exploits
Either way, last I heard emuNAND isn't easy to do like it was on 3ds, so those who think it will be anytime soon are dreaming. Iirc you need more than kernel on switch for anything close to that. Without the proper keys you can't launch the game either. And if we had a way to obtain those keys we would likely have homebrew exploits for newer firmware anyways.

They're largely in collaboration, though. It's possible but then no one's said a word on firmware "don't upgrade" sans 3.0.0 and smhax (and its not like they know what's coming down in a patch or when HackerOne might undermine them), and further you'd need an smhax equivalent to really be getting that deep unless you found a major bug somewhere else to do something similar to allow you to inject an attack.

Is the switch a ps3? No. They both work differently. Stop comparing them.

Just noticed there's a purple squid / octopus in SMO Seaside Kingdom, although very unlikely that's SMO would be the exploitable game for obvious reasons

While I am on this thread, it would be nice if plutoo's team would at the very least confirm which firmware they are working with, so those of us for example on lower than 3.0 can obtain Pokken or another game with a 3.0 update on it

If it's on 3.00 then no, Mario isn't the exploitable game.

why still talking even if you know what happend whit the 3DS scene? and repeat the threads and the same speculation about every progress with a real very long wait to release for the same example about what happen from 3DS scene...just wait and read the first threads form 3DS and you see is the same and homebrew come 2 years after (a real homebrew machine...)

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
