Have you heard of "The Three Stooges" I only ask this as i'm currently doing a English Presentation for college on them (my choice) and nobody in my class had ever heard of them not even my tutor and I was wondering considering they've made alot of impressions on comedy as we know it (Zoidberg and The Simpsons for example)

I was just wandering if im part of a niche or if my entire class is stupid.

    And incase you don't know

Sir, you have some really fucking stupid classmates/tutor.

EDIT: I love oldish comedy, it was pretty interesting back then. Next you'll be telling me they've never heard of the Marx brothers!

    I have.

Do note that their act ended sometime in the 70's, so it's not uncommon for young people to not know about them.

If by "English class" you mean "English as a second language class" as opposed to "Grammer class" (You don't have your country set so I can't tell if English is native to your where you live) I can understand how it would be less likely for someone to have heard of them when their acts weren't originally produced in their native language.

EDIT : What country are you from?
and I'm 29 (and 2 days) and I have heard of them.

25, yes I've heard of them. Saw them a few times too, the old black and white ones.

Also, considering they recently remade The Three Stooges in movies theaters less than a year ago, which was ALL OVER commercials, I find it even stranger they never heard of them.

24, and yes, I've heard of them, even if I'm in a country like Italy :P

Gotta thank Futurama and The Simpsons, I guess ;)

Edit: I'm 18, so your classmates really shouldn't have an excuse here.

Hell, I never seen their show before and I even know that they're comedic gold. They remind me of Benny Hill, or Monty Python. The golden ages of comedy.

This seems rather strange. The Three Stooges, along with many other things fall into the category of 'One of those things where almost everywhere knows at least a bit about them', at least for me, to hear otherwise is rather disappointing.

I can say confidently that if I mentioned this to any of the people I am in contact with on a daily basis they will know, and perhaps chat about them. Even if it is the remake they decided to make and bring to the big screen, lol.

The problem seems to be that the source material (Three Stooges) has been referenced and parodied so many times throughout the years, hardly anyone seems to remember where it came from.

    Your classmates have no tastes.
Of course I have heard them! They perfected slapstick humor! Also I am 21.

The Stooges are awesome. I'm not sure how well the recent movie did or didn't do, but I thought it was well done in the classic style and liked it.

I think it could be understandable, if you live in a country that doesn't speak English or has very little American influence.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible to not know them, and you're being class-wide trolled.

That's really the only answer here, because an entire class can't be that ignorant.
