Homebrew Just want to play old games

I'm not that saavy with most of what's said around here, so I apologize if this question sounds idiotic and that the answer is mentioned a million times in countless threads - but I could find anything that, at least for me, simply answered the question and pointed me in the right direction.

Long story short - I simply want to mod my 3ds in a way that lets me play SEGA and SNES games. I softmodded my Wii easily enough, but all the information out there about the 3ds makes it seem more difficult than rocket science. If anyone could tell me if this is in fact possible, and point me in the right direction of how to get it done I'd greatly appreciate it.

yep you'd just haveto use Snes9x for O3ds for SNES games instead of native VC SNES injections rest is pretty universal.

Like that is a bad thing...
Virtual console lacks so many emulation features. It lacks cheat, save states, netplay, etc. The list goes on. Virtual console is the bare bones emulator nobody uses on any other system where they have the choice.

Try playing VC first before saying those things. VC games work with NTR plugins, so you got cheats and most have Restore Points meaning you got save states! As for netplay, what do you even need it for on a game that can't benefit from it? VC is much more stable and has considerably higher compatibility/performance. Emulators should only be used if you REALLY need something they offer or for cases like SNES in O3DS.
