Hey guys,

As said in title, I am looking for nice card which does not require many patching/cracking knowledge to play games. After reading the acekard 2i review I guess I'll go for it but I still have some questions.

1) Is it fully compatible with DSi XL ? I saw nothing about it. In my mind an XL is jsut a bigger one but I don't know if there is any software issues or anything.

2) I have read something about the acekard not being compatible with 1.5 firmware. Actually, I don't even know what is my firmware version nor how to get it. So my question are
- Is the 1.5 firmware already out ? Is the acekard still working on it ?
- If it is not out yest, do you think the acekard will work afterthat ? Will it require a patch or is the card gonna be totally useless ?

Thanks for reading

Peace

the acekards still needs patch and updates to work with new games
the dstwo can play clean rom and does not need patch
1. yes, it works on dsi XL
2. no there is no 1.5 firmware

main issue with the acekard is the contact issue

The acekard is compatible with Xl, any firmware. Although if your looking for a cart which requires no patching, I would recommend the SuperCard DS TWO instead. It's just more pricey.

The Acekard 2i requires it's firmware to be updated so it can be used on a DSi XL. This needs to be performed using a DS Lite or DS Original. If you don't have access to a DS Lite or DS original, ShopTemp can update the Acekard 2i's firmware so it will work on your DSi XL as part of the Premium Flashing & Update Service, this costs an additional $1 and needs to be added to your cart when you order. As new games are released the Acekard 2i requires it's software kernel (called AKAIO) to be updated to defeat the Anti Piracy protection on them, this update comes every 2-3 months although you can patch the games seperately.

The DSTWO is much easier to update it's firmware and can be done using a DSi XL. It has a 'clean' mode which can defeat the AP on games released after it's last kernel update so you can always play the latest games. The only problem is cheats etc can't be used in clean mode, however it gets frequent kernel updates so you can then use cheats on these games too. The DSTWO also has a built in additional processor, this allows it emulate the GBA and Snes.

Well, thanks a lot guys for all the informations. I was not expecting so much.

I think I might go for a DSTWO which seems a lot more "noobs friendly" judging by what you have said.

Thanks again
