I never used flash carts on my ds. As I never really played it as much as my 3DS.

Probably easiest to find a Sky3DS then.
There is a thread on the forum somewhere where people are doing the mset downgrade for free (just pay shipping, or if you live near them you can deliver it directly) so that you won't need a game, look there maybe.

You can't downgrade mset with a DS flashcart

Be aware that they don't come cheap, for some reason.
I've seen some ebay listings you might want to look at. (they're about $90 - $100).

I'm here if you need me, I have a LONG LONG list of members that have sent me their units or I have sold units too and everyone has been happy so far. I am at the point my name is more of a brand than just a user name since it is the same on ebay and a few other places.

None anymore, just install and update emunand to 9.5 and use mset on sys nand

It's just called writing, flashing usually pertains to the nand with the 3ds

The only problem that I know of is the one that apply to all N3DS CFWs: you can't update past emuNAND 9.5 (for now). When I still had my 8.1.0-0J N3DS, I never noticed anything else out of the ordinary.

Because the N3DS uses a new encryption for firmware on 9.6 and higher that nobody has released a public exploit for yet (apparently some people do, according to 3dbrew, but you know how that goes, we'll never see it without a leak or independent release).
