As titled I have just bought (another) vita. This one is on 3.60.

I want to update it to 3.68, but now that 3.69 is out I cannot do the auto update. Can it be manually updated to 3.68?

Have had a search but not got anywhere.

You really shouldn't update beyond 3.65. Enso only works up to 3.65 and there are compatibility packs to play higher firmware games on lower firmwares.

3.86 H-encore is nice if you are already on 3.68, but I don't see a reason to willfully give up Enso if you are on 3.65 or below.

It is nicer ? because of cold boot ? if he didn't care loosing 5 second launching the hack then it is fine
But you can flip the question - what do you gain from updating to 3.68? H-encore is fine, but giving up Enso for little real gain seems strange.

Up to 3.65 is fine as far as I know, Enso still works on 3.65. The reason 3.68 is not recommended is because you have to use H-encore rather than Enso.

as @sj33 already mentioned, 3.68 really doesn't offer any upsides. The only reason that my Vita 2000 is running 3.68 + h-encore is because I purchased it used with 3.67 already installed.
Both, my Vita 1000 and my PSTV remain at 3.65.

I mean, yeah. The advantage of 3.65 over 3.68 is really marginal, but there simply is no advantage of 3.68 over 3.65.

3.67-3.68 have bad plugins compatibility.
xerpi plugins, nopsmdrm and some other don t work
Sd2vita is not mounted on boot
You can t use enso plugins or any plugin that run on early boot (like custom warning)

3.60 has no problems
3.65 has minor compatibility issues
3.68 is the worst, it is only useful if you a spare vita and you want to decrypt games

Anyway 3.65 is safe, most games/ups require 3.65 so you don t need the buggy repatch, otherwise 3.60 is still a good choice but expect some crashes due to repatch on 3.65+ comp packs and wait for the stable version

also vote for 3.65

a month ago maybe 3.68 is a good option since you don't need to mess with repatch to play any games
but now after 3.69 is out, it's only a matter of time until you need to deal with repatch to play newer games

so if that's the case, then why not just stick with 3.65
you have enso and you can still use PSN

3.65 enso is nice

Having enso for coldboot is nice. Especially if use sd2vita. But to be honest I used to always full power down all my devices when not using. Well I started leaving vita in sleep mode and I noticed the battery seems to deplete slower then if have it fully powered off. And it’s a pretty significant difference. So if u are on a higher firm and only option is running h encore, then leaving vita in sleep mode is a very viable option. But would I leave 3.65? Nope, I’d rather have enso coldboot ability although I leave vita in sleep mode when not in use. And newer games are playable thanks to repatch and also there is a hack that can install onto 3.65 and maybe 3.60 so you can visit github pages on older firm on vita so can download straight to vita. It gives u the web certs and other stuff that 3.68 firm has

You'll lost the ability to use NoNpDrm themes (unless this has already been fixed which I doubt it) and if you have multiple cards then expect headaches.
