Never had to do this one myself.

If you are lucky you will catch a simple case or a case with something you are aware of and get dropped during selection/Voir Dire (computer knowlege and engineering trades of all forms seem to be sure fire ways of pulling that one off if friends experiences are anything to go by).

If you are very lucky, it will just be a case of a person v. RIAA/MPAA/other random anti-piracy group!

To avoid jury duty, just tell them that if a person is in court, they MUST be guilty. Why else would the be there?

Tell them you're prejudiced.

Tell them you can tell if a person is guilty just by looking at them.

Tell them if it is a cop against a regular guy, the cop is guilty and/or lying.

But the best way to avoid ever getting called for jury duty is to never register to vote.

Or you could just go and do your civic duty...it's not that bad. Besides, if you're fairly young, you probably won't be selected anyhow. Or, like happened to me several times, they had a plea-bargain reached and it never went to trial.

When you are 18 in Fl it seems they auto register you to Vote. I have to show up the 28th, There have been a few murders in my area so im hoping it will be a small thing if I do get picked. If the defendant is a young guy they may end up picking me over someone else.

I show up 10 days after my 19th birthday to be picked.

I have to go to the Polk County court house.

IF you want to check out crimes in my area check this stuff out.

No no no, you guys have it all wrong. You WANT to get picked for jury duty! Sure, it's no fun, but it's easy. And if you work, your employer is required to pay you for the days you were out. And if you get on a BIG case, you can hope to be sequestered and live a pampered life for a while!

Oh yeah, and there's that whole civic duty thing too.
