check the komas thread for that w e ve done 97% of all komas !! only few remaining

character affinity are gonna be translated by a guy i ve talk from romhacking.net,

Komas description are each context explanation of each komas .....(800 explanation using something like 8 lines each...pfff too much lines)
for the one tiled komas, this is a biography and for others it explain the manga moment
we ve bring a dump of this part ..... so if you want to do this.......

Beta komas are cheat
we ve already talked about that

We re not gonna modify them, not gonna translate them, not integrate them in the game.... that s all
we ve translated Komaman character, because there are playbale in solo game

encyclopedia is not a translation, it's a fan made encyclopedia
Taizo mote king saga is very short, because we don't have found anything about this manga, and after reading some pages .... he s too stupid for occidental people so it ll never gonna translated ....
BTW i need someone to finish the encyclopedia layout, if you check eyeshield are totally readable, but after bleach .... all the layout is bad....

it s not a translation, it s just a counting work ... a line use 40 characters..... but it s a long work (i know that, i ve made some) but only remaining

You don't need any japanese knowledge for komas explanation, only a good knowledge about mangas series
and the manga moment faq from gamefaqs coul help a lot...... you need just a good writing style !

well explain me how it exactly work and then i will decide if i want to try my hand on it (although i don't think i would be able to do much) or not...
i just see a lot of numbers and kanji... what do those numbers represent?

each files used UTF8 code
so put your text editor to this format

for spot the correspondance you can check ingame komas explanation

each files use abreviations like bb for bobobo or kn for kinnikuman
and each file contains all character from the series
so bl.txt contains all bleach character like renji rukia hitsugaya etc.....

i think you can use something like 40 character per lines (less should be better for space saving)
for helping you, each komas explanation use 8-9 lines, the first line (and sometimes the second)
is the name of the character or the speach he use in the koma
order in the file is the same as the komas list ingame
so bl.txt is ichigo 1 komas then ichigo 2 komas , third komas, 4 komas and after all the ichigo komas it's rukia 1koma then 2 komas etc....like the koma list

The numbers at the beginning of each text file are pointers to a different place in the rom. They tell the game where to get the text from when you reach that point in the game.

If you look closely, some of the numbers are not in order. This is because when the game uses the same text over and over, they use the same pointer which points to the same block of text. For example, say we have a line of text that says "Look at the bottom screen." Instead of writing that over and over again whenever it comes up, we can just write it once. Whenever it comes up again, we just change the pointer so it points to that text. This helps save space in the rom.


By the way, I am the new translator for the game. I just got the affinity stuff translated yesterday, but with my limited knowledge of some of these characters, a few of them sound weird... That is also why I will not be doing the koma translations. As Geunt said, that should be left to the fans. I might take a crack at the quiz next if I have free time though...

Oh, can someone explain to me how to get the affinity text to pop up? Something about having two characters who are related in the battlefield at the same time?

The Affinity? I think it's when you put two characters who are in the same series next to each other in your deck.
Say like you put a Zoro Battle Koma and then you put a Nami Support Koma next to it. Text pops up and you hear a little shine sfx. If what your talking about is what I'm thinking of.

Can someone be kind enough to post the game IDs of Jump Ultimate Stars for both the Komas and non Komas edition with the latest patch? You can get the game id with a program such as R4CCE and such.

And our first attemp to UI modification
there is only one thing.... but it was our first test, now we know how to modify 70% of the UI !!
(there is also a nokoma version patch too)

so i have a few question not related to the translation,since i just finished the game
1) what's the quickest way to gain the remaining gems i need to unlock everything?
2) what was the overall plot of the story?
3) what's the point of tournament mode?

Hi, thank fo this great work.

Magnus, i think the best and the fastest way to gain gems (the red, green, and yellow one though) is to do the quizz.

Yeah, i know it is untranslated yet, but, in the 50 questions'one, you can get betwen 10-17 good answers with the same button (in my case i only push on the A button), and the time for that is about 90 sec (maybe a little more).
The gem earn ar between 50 and 75.

For the oether gems well i assume that we have to increase the good answers...
