Hacking Juggling EmuNand & SysNand N3DS & 2DS questions! ^_^

Hello, all!

Long time skulker, 1st time poster!

So here's what I've got, here's my theory, and I couldn't find anything that really covered what I'm thinking, so here it goes!!!!

My devices:
NEW Nintendo 3DS XL, currently on SysNand 10.2
The N3DS has all my old data from my previous 3DS XL
OLD Nintendo 2DS, currently on Sysnand 9.2, with both 9.2 & 10.3 Emunands
DSTwo+ with full Gateway access on 2DS
Sky3DS

Here's what I'm thinking and would love the community's insight and input on whether this could all work!

First off,

Step 1. Update N3DS to 10.3
Step 2. Do a System transfer from N3DS Sysnand to 2DS Emunand. <---Is this Possible?
Step 3. Install CIA files into fresh 10.3 Emunand with all my old data on it.
Step 4. Backup the Emunand
Step 5. System transfer from Emunand 10.3 back to N3DS 10.3 <--Is this Possible?
Step 6. Profit?

BONUS STEP 7. Restore backed up Emunand, effectively cloning my data?

I have this doubt too, and if is it possible to system transfer emuNAND to emuNAND.

I'm sorry but you can't "juggle" nands across different systems. That means You can't send the NEW system to the OLD one and expect it to work.

We would need further assistance from expert users about legit cia installs in a exploitable system and sending that "nand" through system transfer to a non exploitable but compatible system, specially between old3ds systems. In best case scenario that should allow an user with two compatible systems and at least one of them exploited to have digital versions of his legit purchased games on both systems, which is nice. No more carts hanging around on the second system.

If it is legit cia, maybe, if it is non-legit cia, it won't work, Gateway (and CFW) patches signatures, which non-legit cia dont have, so on sysnand with signatures working, the game won't launch because you dont have the keys for that game.
You could tell it by trying to launch a game on sysnand that was installed on a linked emunand, it wont boot.

Between system transfer emunand to emunand, it will work, i did that from a o3ds emunand 9.5 to a n3ds emunand 9.5, but i heard it wasn't possible to do a system transfer from n3ds to o3ds (2ds), dont know if it is true though.

First of all, no you can't system transfer from a N3DS > 3DS/2DS.

Secondly, even if the transfer was from 2DS > N3DS you can't install cias and system transfer them to an updated system, you lack the proper tickets.

Thirdly, you can't even system transfer legit cias, they are tied to the console not to the NNID.

If this was possible there would be a HUGE stickied guide about it in the forum...

Gave it a shot, anyway. (curiosity, you know!) It's true that you can't transfer from N3DS to O3DS hardware (in this case, the 2DS).

Thank you to everyone who provided their input! I wasn't ignoring your advice, I just figured there was no harm in trying (given the fail-safes built into the System Transfer process).

Still curious about a 2DS to O3DS XL, but don't currently have a spare 3DS to try it on.

Pretty sure if you buy a system with a preinstalled game and later buy a new system and transfer to it, you can still download and install the original preinstalled game on the new system. Also, I thought this was the whole point of "legit cias". Because of they way they are signed as long as you can find a way to install them they will run from sysnand and if you buy another 3ds later and do a system transfer they will transfer with it.

That has nothing to do with them being signed to the console. It's probably an issue with not having proper tickets for them, even though they are legit.

The legit .cias give you the proper tickets, they even count as Downloaded when you look on eShop, and deleting one of them allows you to redownload the game straight off the eShop.

I've even tried doing that, installing them, linking a NNID, redownloading them from eShop then system transfer over, nothing's ever worked.
