JPN Wii u doesn't recognise some US wii games, from either vc inject or usb loader gx

i tried to install DK country returns last night from a us dump from the r/roms site, some us games are recognised well with no issues and some here like DKCR or just dance greatest hits just straight up not show text at all, does anyone have an answer on why this could be a thing? bad dump? vwii settings are bad? (yes, i know that DKCR has an eshop copy, i just want to find the root of the problem
i should also mention that US wii u games work just fine with no issues

update: tried the eshop DKCR version in US, exact same thing happens

UPDATE: solved it by region swapping the vwii using settings.txt editor and a setting.txt file from archive org
