I'm sure Nintendo and Gamefreak have heard and seen all of the fan eveelutions especially the ghost one which seems to be the most popular. Personally I think a ghost type is on its way.

They didn't intro any extra Eeeveelutions in Gen III as far as I remember - only Gen II and Gen IV. And I read somewhere (Pokebeach I think, I'm most likely wrong) that there are no pre-evolutions of existing Pokemon, or new evolutions. Apparently this Gen's line-up isn't attached to older Pokemon in any way. But yeah, like I said, I'm probably wrong.

Anyway, SEVEN DAYSSSS. Cannot wait. ._.
