Take your time, man.

(oh, and for the record: I tried it, but could get nothing but errors no matter what I tried. Not exactly the best beta-testing ever, I'm afraid.

Using joyflow, is there a way to make game channels like you can with Crap and Cfg USB loader?

Also, is there a tutorial around that can take me step by step through the process (after Modmii leaves off) ?

Thanks

Erm...I don't think so. But do you know what a game channel IS, exactly?

Channels are, roughly said, those windows in the main wii menu that can be used to launch stuff. This can be wiiware, VC, 'the internet channel', forward to homebrew, or even forward to wii games (hence: 'game channels').

Since joyflow aims to be an interface that lists all your games and all channels installed on your emulated nand, it has no need for game channels: it already displays all your games and all your channels. So you could create a game channel with crap (I didn't knew CFG could do it as well), but it would only mean your game is listed both in the 'games' part as in the 'channels' part.

What do you mean with "step by step through the process"? If you want the game to show up in joyflow, all you need to do is install it to your emulated nand (.wbfs isn't supported yet, I'm afraid). If it's in the correct folder, joyflow will see it immediately.
If it's to get joyflow running, would you please tell me where modmii ends?
-do you have a uneek+di nand that works?
-does it have HBC 1.0.7 installed?
-can you run joyflow from the HBC?

Hey Wever,

yeah, basically, I prefer the stock wii interface, so was hoping I could launch games directly from there and use joyflow as the backbone, skip the joyflow interface all together.

I'm overseas at the moment, with my newly ordered wii waiting for me back home. So right now I'm getting all the information sorted in my head so that I can just jump in when I'm back. Thus, can't answer your questions

I see...but if you can already make those game channels with crap (and apparently CFG)...then why do you want this same function for joyflow? It's been years since I used crap, but as far as I can remember, most if not all settings that games needed could be added. So why not use those programs to create your channels?

For the record: you can use priiloader and a forwarder dol to boot straight into joyflow instead of the stock wii menu. It's not really an alternative (joyflow doesn't have quick access to the system settings), but "because the wii just starts in this menu" isn't a valid argument anymore.

If you just looking to access the games, did you know all you need to do is press (1) to show a text list of all the games you have? this is as simple as it gets.

As I understand it, UNEEK offers 100% compatibility, which is why I'd use it over CFG. And the reason I would have game channels if I could is because they look nice. If you can't then oh well. I'll just boot right into Joyflow.
Thanks for your replies.

Unfortunately, it's a bit more complicated than that: cIOS and USB loaders are the standards. Pretty much everybody uses it, so from even the most obscure games, it becomes known which are the problem games (or even downright not work).

Uneek (or rather: uneek+DI) is harder to set up, and as such has a smaller user base. Lots of games - in fact: all games - are presumed working. But until uneek+DI becomes so popular that cIOS users become a minority, a full map of confirmed working games will take a while.

And to answer the question: thus far, godfather black hand edition doesn't work (it starts, but when loading the actual game, it gets stuck in an endless loop). Oh, and my customly created puneek-disc.

There may be other games. But aside from that, every game I tried under discex works (not that it's an impressive list).

(note: compatibility may change if overjoy gets his .wbfs-compatible uneek version done)

...and I can confirm that RB3's problem (something with a corrupt savegame?) doesn't happen on my end (I think Hielkenator has it working as well...not sure, though).

So...yeah. You see what I mean with this large user base? It's even hard to determine which game works and which doesn't.

(I can confirm the godfather one not working from personal tests).

Over here also no problems with RB3 and Monster Hunter Tri. I also can't remember problems with Metroid Other M. When I've time I'll check out the others to see whats going wrong.

Oh the problem with other M definitely exists, if you press the home button in game (not during the intro or during other movies) the game freezes.
If i have time, i like to test the WBFS support to see if the freeze also happens with the game in WBFS file format.
Oh, in case you are wondering, I used the conversion tool from ModMii for the DiskEx version.

can you help ?

If you have the retail discs, try to redump and convert to discex.
Make sure your region settings are right when loading the game from Uneek.

* PS : I will try it myself today and post the outcome concerning Metroid Other M, and MH Tri.
I am not in possesion of Rockband anymore so I can't test it anymore. But as I recall, the savegame problem was fixed a while ago
.
Uneek gives 100% compatibilty for wiiware and VC. In combination with JoyFlow and multiple Nands using Swith2Uneek, this is the ultimate setup for collectors and the way to play
these games. Covers ( if available ) can be downloaded with JoyFlow. Awesome.
