Finally got priiloader to load JoyFlow directly. Too bad priiloader is so unstable with S/UNEEK. Oh well. A few tries and I'm all set. Since it seems that not all the WiiWare, etc has covers to download, how do I create my own? Also, since I don't have any game ISO's installed to the USB HD, it always asks me which partition to use, very much in the way of my nice Wiiware. Can I make that stay away? Also, can I always start it on the Installed Channels section?

Thanks

I hate dbl posting, but I just loaded 6.5 gb of wiiware games on my emulated nand and now nothing works. This is not a fault of joyflow, but must be something with S/UNEEK.

BTW, OverJoy, If you need a beta tester for ANYTHING, I am in the perfect position to do beta testing. I have a 'tech wii' that I use just for this type of stuff. Feel free to ask me to test out whatever. I have tested things for XFlak hundreds of times and I have beta tested many things for pune and other ppl too. I have no fears of bricks or anything. My wii is unbrickable

First of all.. Thanks for the offer. If I have something that has to be tested I will certainly ask you (especially if there are certain risks). I own just 1 Wii and it can't have bootmii as boot2 so I'll have to do it with just Priiloader and bootmii IOS (I have a nand backup with keys).

Of course if I send anything to test to someone I'll explain first what it is, what it should do, where it's for and what I know and think the risks are.

Then... I kinda like the way you test things hehe.. Just throw 6.5 gig of stuff to it.. If we have a nand that can hold many gigs of stuff then use it!! Please keep us informed as you progress.

Maybe it's not the emu nand that stopped working or a bad wad at all.. Did you try to delete Uneeks cache files? They can also deter Uneek to start if they're faulty

(assuming things work the same as in wiiflow and the folder structure is still default)

Take a look at SD:\SNEEK\JoYflow\boxcovers and SD:\SNEEK\JoYflow\covers. The former holds the full covers, the latter the 'normal' ones. You don't need both, but if possible, go with making a boxcover.
Either way...it's best to just copy the settings of images that are already there (.png's of 1024x680 or 512x340 for boxcovers). The name has to match the internal name of the wiiware/VC/whatever (channels have 4 letters, wii games 6). If needed, check those in joyflow (clicking once on the thing to have it stand out from the others) or the uneek menu (the '1' or home button showcases those names as well).

The best way to skip the partition question is to just install a game to it. You can convert iso's with Crediar's discEX program, or use modmii if you have .wbfs files/folders. You only need one to get rid of the message. Perhaps it even works if you have just the correct (empty) folders in the right structure.

I don't know how to always start it on the channels section. As this is a mod of wiiflow, you might want to ask that in the wiiflow thread.
(perhaps it's not even possible...you can't mix channels with the games into different categories either).

I have determined it down to a bad wad file. I think it might be one of the DLC wads, but I have no proof of it until I test more, but it is just my observant guess at this point.

It is possible to start directly into channel view.. I'll make a fix for this that if no games are installed it boots into channel view

That would be awesome!!! I dumped Wii Play to DiscEx format just so that error doesn't come up, but that's a workaround, but starting in Channel View would be perfect.

Thanks for all the hard work.

I need someone who can test JoYflow for me with 1 or more games installed in Uneek and without any game installed. I can't test it myself right now.

I think I could manage that.

HOWEVER, being that sneek won't boot with any game installed. Kinda pointless dude

Yeah I know that.. Sorry for not being clear enough, I meant test JoYflow with Uneek+DI with one or more games installed and in just Uneek, but I have been able to test already.

If everything goes well... Then later today a small update.

Thanks for your reply

Cool, no worries dude.
Oh, is it only sneek that won't boot without a game? I assumed it was all variants including uneek, fair enough then ignore my comment, lol

Nice one for another updated mate, I'll give it a bash later if I can tear myself away from metroid long enough, loving this game.

Oke guys.. Here's a new build of JoYflow with a small update

JoYflow 1.0 r2

No real big changes only launching it in just Uneek will boot straight into channel view to avoid the 'No partition found' screen.

If the DI module is present it will boot straight into game view again.

I plan to do some more changes such as a menu item to choose between booting in channel or game view for users with the DI module present and still want to boot into channel view and a couple other changes related to this

Ey...thanks a lot, mate.

If you're taking requests, I'd like to add that I would like the channels to be able to be categorized in the same way as games. But seeing as I don't know how to read the source code, I cannot tell how much work this seemingly small addition will be.

Besides...I'd rather have the .wbfs support. But I think you already knew that.

I like your idea to add catagories for channels also, but I'm a bit limited in time atm and yes, wbfs support has priority on this. So maybe I'll look into this someday.

Except for some 'folder name' issues I think I finished most code I need in JoYflow to add wbfs support. I'm now working on wbfs support for Crediars DI module, but I can't make any promises on how long it takes and whether it succeeds.

To learn more about wbfs files I also started a small side project to confert wbfs files to DiscEx format. I hope I finish this in the next few days and then I want to integrate this also in JoYflow.

And last but not least.. I know Scooby is working on something for the ones under us who want to boot straight into JoYflow and don't wanna use the SM at all. He send me a tryout yesterday and it was working pretty damn good, so I think if he solved his distribution problems he'll release it!!

I have a problem, when trying to load the app either by forwarder dir=apps/JoyFlow/boot.dol, hbc v1.07, or full channel i just get a black screen. I should mention I was able to load it once but I after exiting and turning off the wii it will no longer load.

Im using emulated NAND 4.3u UNEEK+DI.

I've used SneekyCompiler for making UNEEK+DI cause it says rev 151 vs ModMii rev 150; i'm not sure what the difference between the two are. Also I used ModMii to make my Virgin 4.3U Nand.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.

Also Im using a 10 GB NAND would this make a difference? i noticed that JoyFlow loaded up slow w/o many games on it, but everything seems to run slow when i install upto 519 WW VC titles. This would include 2mins to load up the emulated NAND, 1 1/2 mins to load up homebrew by forwarder just an example. Still any help with this would be great. I'm also currently wondering if there is anyway to have your emulated NAND boot up automaticaly into any homebrew JoyFlow being one possibility.

First try deleting sd:/apps/joyflow/JoYflow.ini

If it doesn't work and you can answer the next question with yes try this build and pm me the contents of JoYflow.log in the root of your sd-card.

The question: Does it display the 'JoYflow/Wiiflow' animation for a while

If it doesn't display the animation there no need to try this build

Note: Everything loads a bit slower on emu nand so JoYflow probably to

The differences between rev151 and 150 aren't that big (small changelog). The slowdown is more likely to be caused by fragmentation. Have you tried defragging it?
EDIT: also noticed Crediar updated his FAQ a bit...perhaps this bears mention as well:

QUOTEStuff loads slow

The speed issue is quite tricky, one rule of thumb is the less is on the card the faster it is.

There is on way to gain some speed, reformat your SD card with the highest sector per cluster count possible but no more than 64 sectors per cluster (32kB Clusters).

Can't say how slow the nand or joyflow loads with that many titles on it...I don't get near that number (yet
wink.gif
).

It is possible to load straight into joyflow, yes. In fact, it was discussed only a couple pages ago (check around these posts for more info and a priiloader forwarder).

It's auto generated. If it isn't there then it's the forwarder you use that doesn't launch JoYflow
