I can't seem to get this to work! I am using it on an r4 cartridge (or trying to), but I can't get games to work. At the moment, the only game I have on is Shining Force II, and it won't work. I load up jEnesisDS, which works fine, then press select which supposedly continues, but all I get is a blank box.
On the SD card, asides from all of my ds games, I have the jEnesis 0.5 file and the Shining Force II binary. I have read that you need to DLDI patch something or other, but I don't really understand it. Can somebody help?

DLDI Tutorial

Depending on which firmware you have it should automatically DLDI patch the jEnesisDS file :\

What firmware are you using?

By firmware, what do you mean? Oh and I read the DLDI tutorial but couldn't get the patcher to work. Am I supposed to be patching jEnesis or the games? Another thing, I couldn't find the R4 patch even though I have downloaded it... Sorry if I'm missing something completely obvious.

If you have the most current firmware for the R4, you do not need to patch the homebrew anymore(It patches them when you run them). you would not patch the games, you would be patching jEnesis.

Right then. So why can I not load the game like I said in my first post? I leave all of the options how the are when the program is loaded, but when I press select (which it says to press to continue) the options are gone and there is just a blank box in their place? Am I doing something wrong, or can Shining force II not be played through jEnesis?

EDIT: I've just tried adding another few games, but I get the same results when I press select.

Well did you or did you not update the R4's firmware? Your built-in version likely does not have DLDI autopatching, in which case you should use DLDIrc to manually patch jEnesisDS.nds with the R4 DLDI file. This is needed to let jEnesisDS talk to your microSD card's filesystem (that's what DLDI does).

That could be an easy fix without even opening it with some ipa maybe unless the entire button broke

Yeah it works great but it's the obvious Ds factor you loose from it it's not like playing atari games on atari because Nintendo actually use to give a reason to buy their hardware
