It's certainly a lot better than a 13" tube tv!

Are you allowed to touch it? My father wouldn't let me connect anything of mine to the tv when he first got it.

It better be 1080p because if its 720p that just fails.

Yeah if it is 720p refuse to watch it. I would be so mad if my parents brought home a 720p TV. It is definitely a fail TV, go back to the 13" tube, it is a win TV. Also, 42" is too small, tell them you want a 70" AT LEAST!!! Tell them the failing economy is just a lie.

Yeah, my dad was being all paranoid and wouldn't let me hook up the PS3 at first.
Then he sort of gave up, and said that he would just buy another one it it broke.
    Haha!

Go watch a DVD, then 720p and then 1080p version of a movie.

    ^Exactly,

my TV is 1080p but I run my 360 at 720p and used to run my TV at 480p. With 400 DVDs I don't see my buying a bluray player especially when an upconverter works so well. So in the end 1080p is over rated. (I don't watch TV but I will say the high def channels do come in pretty fricking nice though)

Anyway congrats on the new TV.
