Now that I have a way to play region free games, anyone have any suggestions of Japan only games that someone with no knowledge of the language can enjoy? I prefer RPGs but anything fun is worth my time.

What about Senran Kagura? You don't have to play it, just look at the pretty pictures

Rhythm games like Taiko no Tatsujin and Project Mirai would be good.

I think you should try Gaist Crusher, Toriko and Puzzle & Dragons.

    Edit:
    Maybe Nekketsu?

EX Troopers is a damn good game as well. It's a bit story driven but not too hard to follow in terms of what your objectives are, and the gameplay is great.

Taiko no Tatsujin is also a really good option, as is Puyo Puyo Tetris (you'll work out what the menus are once you've messed around with it a bit. Amazing puzzle game btw).

One more; I haven't tried it myself yet, but I understand there was a fair bit of hype (or well, a lot of hype) for Final Fantasy Explorers. You might wanna give that a try too.

The Puyo Puyo games are very fun and have easy-to-navigate menus. Taiko no Tatsujin is also really good.

Monster Hunter 4, at least until it's released in the west. I mean, c'mon - it's Monster Hunter! :rofl2:

None are worth playing if you have absolutely no knowledge of the Japanese language IMHO, it's not like there's on 3DS games in English and the ones that are really worth playing in Japanese are mostly story driven which takes out pretty much all of what the whole game experience is all about.

Youkai Watch is pretty fun, very pokemon-esque.

That's your preference and not the majority, fighting games and rhythm games play fine in Japanese but are they really worth playing probably not.

By all means you got a flash card to play whatever games you like in Japanese, why bother even asking right...?

Rodea the Sky Soldier is an upcoming JP-exclusive game that looks really good - it's by Yuji Naka and has been on hiatus for around 3 years.

Seconding all of the recommendations for E.X. Troopers. I picked it up in Japan a few years ago and it's a great game. The gameplay is solid, the graphics are really nice (it's all cel shaded so it shouldn't age too quickly). The story is also interesting if you can understand Japanese. I've spend many hours in the VR room trying to get gold on all of the missions. Even if you don't understand Japanese you should be able to play it, I think. There are objective arrows everywhere. Trying to get gold on missions might be more difficult without knowing the requirements, though.

Is Shingeki no Kyojin: Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa CHAIN (Attack on Titan) any good? Better yet, does anyone have the .cia update so that it can be played online? It's a bit hard to find.
