Today, Nintendo said they would buy the company that manages the distribution of their products in Japan, for a total of $46.5 million, and will become a subsidiary of the gaming giant. This will allow the company to manage all of the distribution which happens within the said subsidiary.
Nintendo also explains that this commitment will "strengthen the overall competitiveness of the Nintendo group and increase its corporate value."

JESNET is to officially become a subsidiary on the 3rd of April 2017.

They outsource assembly of their hardware at the chinese slave prison known at foxconn like everyone else

In short... if you thought Nintendo eShop sales were bad already... this just means that Nintendo will be charging full launch price for their systems well after they stopped making games for them, to try and create some perceived value or something.

This is for Japan only, people. This means they will rely only on themselves regarding distribution. The article is quite clear on that. And of course they will save. They will buy a well oiled machine, it's businesses (I don't think JESNET and AIOKA have Nintendo as it's only client).

Of course, they will make more money. As long as they keep or make jobs, that's fine.
