Hacking Jap O3DS on firmware 3.0 CFW?

Hey guys, I Have this old 3DS that been forgotten on a shelf for years and I want to install CFW on it to play some games. From what I know CFW is only possible for firmware 4.XX to 9.2 this one sadly is just at 3.0, buying a japanese cart to update it is not an option cause those are rare here from where I'm from and I don't wanna spend money to order a game just to use it for the update, are there any other possible ways for me to update this to a 4-9.2? Some link to update guides would be very appreciated, thanks.

But... Wait... Updating with a game card doesn't update your browser, so he won't be able to use browserhax anyway

Oh right, that's true... only bet is to get OoT, popwer saves or someone with a jacked 3DS and update, then downgrade.

1. Use older versions of gateway to create and access emunand (without red card, I think)
2. install sysupdater and update to 9.2 on emunand
3. clone the emunand to sysnand.

Risk of bricking, since it's older GW FW version.
Gateway probably bootable via browser?

Anyone disagree with this method?

previously,

it was possible to launch Gateway without the red card.

Well, you only need a red card to access emunand.

Gateway launcher itself is capable of creating emunand and stuff.

IIRC 4.3-4.5 can already use MSET to access rxtools.

so user may already be on the correct firmware to do that.
