Hacking Jailbreaking with non standard equipment

Not sure if the title sheds and light on my problem, which is as follows:
-I own a Japanese PS3 phat
-Currently on 3.15
-Jailbreaking with iphone 3G (4.1 Redsn0w) following http://psfreedom.com/wiki/IPhoneLinux, but using the iDroid solution... not this one ;P

I've installed 3 games with open manager (winning eleven, R6:Vegas2, Devil May Cry - All Japanese Discs), and they all give a 80010017 error no matter what manager they are run through (OM, Gaia...). I've tried with discs, without discs... so not sure whats going on.

anyone shed light on this?

just be sure you are running the latest payload ?

ran across this but it doesn't seem right as it deals with activation of psn purchased items.... how bizarre

Got this one figured out, so just in case someone has the same problem...



I had my PS3 swopped out yesterday, the previous one died on me. I bought flow on the pevious PS3. Got home, downloaded flow on the new PS3 and tried to play, just before the game launches, the screen returns to XMB with this error: "There is an error During Startup (80010017)"... But I did Active my new PS3... So I went back into Account Management ([Friends] [Account Management]), de-activated and activated again, PROBLEM RESOVLED. Seems like the machine isn't happy with activation before download, I guess.

hmmm also shows error as a bluray failure in some searches I've run across..... you may want to check the compatibility list and be sure those games even work.....

one more thing.... did you rip to xternal or internal? You may want to rip to internal then move it to the xternal... have seen some success witht this.... mind you have also seen it the other way lol.... good luck let us know how it goes

woah, a replay!
i have tried to follow that, and there is no account managment under friends or accounts... so not sure whats going on there.

i have now moved on to more standard equipment; 3.41 and a actual jb dongle (amazebreak, and teensy clone)
-the amazebreak produces the same results (80010017)
-i am now testing various payloads for the teensy... more in a sec...

damn, used psgrade forgetting what it did, and stuck in service mode... derp.
ok, fixed that.

tested 3 other payloads for the teensy board, using different managers, tried with and without disks, tired different usb slots... nothing.
im at a loss here... have no idea what to do next...
