A few days ago, there were rumors on GoNintendo that XSEED games had picked up publishing rights for the popular and unique new game for DS and Wii called Ivy the Kiwi. It's a game developed by PROPE and created by the legendary Yuji Naka, creator of the original Sonic the Hedgehog character and franchise. It is a game in the vein of the DS launch title Kirby Canvas Curse, where you guide your character through 2D worlds by drawing paths for your character to walk on.

Anyways, the game was released about a week ago in Japan for both DS and Wii and now the confirmation of a US release being handled by XSEED has been confirmed. The official press report can be read here-

Awesome news indeed! We're getting this sometime during the summer, exact date not confirmed yet, but it's perfectly playable without understanding Japanese anyways. Good news though. [IMG]

    Where rockets don't fall.
I think this was expected since the DS japanese version had english in it and other european languages.

True. But there's always a chance they won't release it if it doesn't sell well enough.

That's good news. It means I don't have to wait [IMG]

It's amazing how often XSEED picks up interesting games though. I haven't played this yet, but it's one of the DS titles I've looked forward to.

Yeah. Even better is XSEED licensed it direct from the original dev. Bypassing its japan publisher entirely.
