iTunes wont install on Vista

Help! iTunes 7.4 (the latest) wont install on my Vista. Halfway through the install it says I need to close windows explorer (Process Id: 468) but I don't have it open! I have iTunes 7.3 installed on my computer right now, but I don't want to uninstall in case I'm not able to install it again. Does anyone know what I should do?

You're right, so he can't end the process... My choice of words was bad, I made it seem like your PC would break. I actually meant that it won't work until you restart it.
