I think it is better to center ones identity around something constructive. I understand if one faces opposition that it is nice to see ones self overcome this, but to appeal to others I think it is better to approach them with something that is constructive.

Well I don't reveal my gender or sexual orientation for reason some here may sympathize with.
did you make you feel shame because your parents and peers made you say gays are bad.

so is this the reason you hate gays?
Where is this coming from?

Now now, I'm sure there's nobody on a forum based entirely of gamers that would say anything controversial about people of the LGBT community. Surely not.
we predicted it

I have a question about the rainbow flag. Wikipedia says it first was the 'gay pride flag'. Now it is (according to wikipedia) the 'LGBT pride flag'. Is that current or is it more accurate to say that it is the 'LGBTQIA+ pride flag'?

i think the proper term is just "a pride flag"

You are right, another wikipedia article identifies it as 'pride flag'. It's more practical, since the full progression of gender identity has not unfolded yet, it seems.

Another thing that has occupied my mind is the rainbow motive. It seems to be in connection to light. When the light is broken up in its spectral content, it gets broken into different colors.

Is there a deeper meaning to this light spectrum motive for the community?

The different colors within the flag are to represent togetherness, since LGBT people come in all races, ages and genders, and rainbows are both natural and beautiful.

Interesting. So it would be a mistake to reduce the flag to gender identity or sexual orientation alone. I did not know that.

Another thing I am interested in is the progression of the movement. If I am not mistaken it started with 'gay pride' now it is LGBTQIA+. That seems to me to be quite a progression. Is there a tragetory, that the movement will further progress?
