Wow! its my 16th bday and my Godmother, who havent given me any present for the last nine years is coming home and she promised me to buy anything up to worth a $700!

I made up my mind with these: do you think they are really worth getting? So far my only consoles are Nintendo Handhelds from the original up to the
NDS and my only home console is my un'modded'PS1

    A Playstation 2
    A Sony Playstation portable
    A Good Quality Laptop
    A Faster Broadband Connection

and a gift from someone else, a kiss lol [IMG]

Can i get one from gbatemp's most beautiful gal? lol [IMG]

Will these gifts make me happy? I dont want to go to the now gen consoles yet(PS3, Xbox360 Wii)

i heard Ps3 costs too much, wii sucks and xbox360, meh, not microsoft fan

Happy Birthday bud. I say get a console if you please...just look for the one which has the most interesting games for you. One of them has to stand out to have titles you will enjoy playing the most.

And...i count 5 laptops under 700 at dell.com but i'm not going to recommend anything specific since I really didn't check them out too hard. I really like dell as a company though, my laptop is doing great 2-3 years later. I've had problems not doubt but damn did they deliver on them when I expressed it. My speaker went (probably my fault) and it was replaced free. I've had my screen replaced twice for gathering scratchs/having like the smallest pixel die (freeeee). I've had a power adapter replaced and they sent me a fresh new 9-cell battery to go with it (FREEEE....) also replaced the buttons which the graphics get worn off. Turn around from the calls I placed to parts delivered and installed in my home was probably less then 1 1/2 weeks at the most for all these problems...I did pick an upgraded warranty plan tho. And it may be different for where you live of course.

Anyway Have a great birthday and don't bleed your poor Godmother DRY! =)

Get the good laptop, always buy the most expensive item you just knoooooow you could never get otherwise.

The other things you can get with a bit of saving.

    Used PS2 no effort.
    Used PSP no effort.
Broadband connection, well that's just a monthly thing.

if you have all these handhelds a console should really be the way you go.
