    I heard you can just go into system settings and update from their is that true?

    Are you on A9LH? I would update to B9S first since newer CFW versions use it. then I would attempt to update luma with the updater (or manually) THEN update ur system, everything should work but I digress, I'm not the most well-versed person on this site for that matter, but it should work (maybe try updating ur emu first just to make sure your sys will be safe?)

    if your SD card has a boot.bin or a boot.firm if its .bin its arm9loaderhax, if its .firm its boot9strap
