It worked yesterday, it doesn't today.

And by that I mean EVERYTHING.

Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time hacking my Wii. Since it was my first time, it took me a while.

With the help of Hackmii I managed to make it. Installed USB Loader GX, tried Pokemon Battle Revolution. All is well.

Then I downloaded the SNESX emulator on the Homebrew browser and spent a few hours playing DKCR2. This thing works like a charm.

The next morning, USB loader GX stopped working. The program would load fine, but would result in a permablack screen once I tried loading a game.

As for SNESX, it crashes after a few seconds of play (pretty startling) and shows a black screen with strings of numbers and Exception (DSI) Ocurred.

Now, this whole IOS, cMIOS, cIOS and warblegarble business confuses me to no end. Don't get too technical on me if you're kind enough to help.

I assume this isn't a unique case, so if there is a thread you suspect that can help me, direct me to it.

You must know that usb loader gx is still not stable everytime, you should use configurable usb loader or wiiflow. Is your wii connected to the internet? If not, then it's normal that snes9xgx is crashing after a few seconds.

I'll try other loaders then. GX looked really good though.

Seems weird that SNES9X needs internet though. I'll try that.

Update : I switched to USB Loader CFG and it works pretty well. No problems so far.

I went and tried some other emulators. So far all of them crashed before I could load a game, except 64 and SNES.

(THE PSX one even went out with a loud screeching noise that nearly made me shit my pants.)

But I'm gonna look these up later. It ain't much of a problem.

Sounds like that HBC network issue to me
    If it:

    a) works as long as HBC find a network (see lower right)
    b) crashes if it does not

    then for the time being
either give it net access or wait 1-2 min in hbc for it to time out
a proper solution is in development in http://gbatemp.net/t301061-how-to-fix-the-...in-ahbprot-mode
