I did this question about the Gateway on its FAQ topic:
It will work with New 3DS Games either? Or just 3DS games on New 3DS?

Well, if it didn't, we will cannot play the New 3DS games, so we will need to update it, since we don't know if emuNAND it's available or it will be, it's worth the bought?

Because emuNAND can be available after, not at the "new gateway" launch, but after some work. So it can be worth

I bought an Australian new 3ds just because it's in english.

That way it'll technically be worth it because I have the potential to be on crackable firmware. I'm pretty sure that before the n3ds comes out in america there'll be lots of Gateway-breaking firmware updates that'll come with it

If you understand Japanese, go ahead. I bought one and even though I know enough Japanese to get by, it's all full of delicious kanji and fuck if I know what some things say

Japanese version is cheaper and has limited editions.
Is easy to read menus... If you know up to grade 3 in Kanji you can read with no problem.

Hasn't anyone never imported JP consoles before? All this you need to read Japanese is silly because once GW release their 9.2 update with region free, its not gonna make any blind bit of difference. No offence but i see loads of people scared not just here but elsewhere to not own a JP system because of the language barrier.

I know Katakana and Hiragana and zero Kanji but it does not put me off.

Is easier to find english CIA updates than japanese updates to download. Inclusively counts with eshop Rips... There is even PC Engine games in japanese eshop
MH4G is a great example. I took a while. You always can order from Play-asia for better "support".

And i bet is enough for you retrofan_k

idk if its sarcasm but i ment when you first start up your 3ds to enter the settings they give you a choice to pick a langauge of your preference. i know this doesn't change the games but as long as the system menu is in english it should be fine

Honestly the reason I never play Japanese games is simply because of language. Likewise for me Japanese new 3ds isn't worth it because of that when I could get an AU new 3ds in English .
