Windows 7 won't recognize it, even if it already did a few weeks ago and it was working just fine.
I tried to pick the driver up manually, but I can't find anything that resembles "Common C class controller". Any help?

I used to have similar issue too.
Try to uninstall your driver and reinstall it, and if it still doesn't work try different usb port. My controller sometimes lost signals when I plugged in to front usb ports but resolved by plugging to a different port.

This happens quite often. Go into device manager and update the "unknown device" > Browse My computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers... > Xbox 360 drivers should be at the bottom and install the one for you controller. Its simple!
