yes, it will update if u do that. I can't recall the specifics as it's been years since I updated. I do remember it being recommended that u pad the disc since the update is so small. the wii and the ps2 both don't like small discs.

from what I remember, u'd grab the update, pad the disc, then burn. the update should initialize the moment u boot it up on the system. remember: this is for wiikey 1, not wiikey 2.
