Got this DS from someone on a different board, sold as faulty..

I've repaired 2 DS's before - but never seen one with glue on it.. Is this normal??

I've never seen inside DS but I'd say that's not normal. It's... Too messy. Like a chewing gum.

This isn't normal for sure!! Maybe the previous owner tried to repair it by doing this, but it really looks ugly and messy..

Not normal, that's probably the reason it was sold as "faulty."
I guess that thing is some sort of insulator. Why it's there is beyond me.
Or maybe the seller tried to replace the shell and accidentally spit out his gum on the DS...

Maybe the epoxy ressin didn't harden yet when he put the DS back together? makes more sense than GUM..

That's really weird. Was it all over the inside of the shell or just on one section?

That's not normal. Then again, I've only ever opened 1 DSL.

What's under it? I can't think of a reason to mess around there...

I've opened 2 lites, they both had a dollop of glue in them, I assumed to make it harder to open or something. But as it seems not to be the norm, perhaps I should have solde them on ebay as 'rare'.
