i have absoloute faith in TYs, but 'vaule' line? could be fakes with a stolen disc id
for that price i would risk it though!!

I looked on Taiyo's official site and found http://superdealproducts.com/product_info....products_id=334 .

It looks exactly like those on the site, and since they're 'value', they cost less. I trust the site, cause I've bought ink and cases from there before, and they ship lightning fast, since I live right next to the company.

I've tried those before and they seem to work pretty well. Honesty though, the best media I've tried so far was Verbatim DVD-R 16X bought from Office Depot.

yes agreed! verb 16x +R are the best. no noise from the wii at all, and no menu 'slowdowns'
also memorex 16x +R work almost as well

Those are real TY... I got some

I got a pack of 100 DVD-R + 100 single dvd case + inks for about $100 CAD which is not bad ... + 20 sheet of photo paper as gift ;D from this website

Work perfectly on my Wii (had to reburn of Super Smash Bros GC that was on FAKE ritek... now work perfect with those TY)

    EDIT :

actualy... just did a recheck on the website... and I got the WHITE hub printable...

those "value" TY doesn't show the TY seal.... I think they are cheap rebrand... get the REAL Silver one if you don't need the White printable...

Someone was having problems playing games on the Wii. They kept getting read errors. I think they were using the TY value line.

The Memorex DVD+R 16x don't really work for me. It's like a coin toss when it comes to the Wii recognizing it. Plus, it makes lots of noise.

Those are real TY. I have a stack, and i used DVD Identifier to verify they are real TYs.

    Heres the specs:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:TYG02]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd.]
    Manufacturer ID : [TYG02]
    Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [ DVD Identifier V5.0.1 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

as you can see, the id is TYG02, and according to this site they are real top quality

Taiyo Yuden was all I ever used for PS2 backups, never had an issue with them. I bought the value line. The shrink wrapped 100 stack or whatever. Can't remember the place I got them from, but at the time, I did check and they were legit..

Now for the wii, no idea, but as soon as I get mine in, I'll be sure to test mine since I have about 50 left from my PS2 days...

I think it depends on your Wii. Mine won't read Verbatims but is perfectly happy with Ritek G05 dyed discs. Similarly on my old PS2 anything from cheap CMC.MAG discs to Verbs work well but a replacement PSTwo slimline is having trouble with cheap media and needed pot tweaking to accept the Verbs.

My Wii doesn't care for TY Valueline either. It prefers Sony and Verbatim DVD-R.
