ok.. yesterday i go to the mall and i saw a psp battery but i dont know if its better than my old battery....

this is the battery that i saw:

''Gaming Battery for PSP (1st Generation) 3.6AV 1800MAH''

112_1.jpg

Specification Voltage: 3.6V Capacity 1800mAh Cell Type: Li-ion Color: Black

My Old Battery is 3.6v and 3600mAh and i think it is broken because i full charge it and says 100% and will last for 7 hours....when i play it 1 to 2 hours the battery is drained already........ Do you think this battery is better than my old one??? or should i find a better battery than this??

Your old battery sounds like mine, If I don't keep It plugged in the battery dies so fast. As for your question, the battery are both 3.6v but the mAh rating on this new one is worse then your old battery. I would try to find the highest mAh rated battery you can and pass on that one. I need to find a new battery myself, If I find something great I'll let you know. I never had goodluck though with PSP battery packs, they just don't seem to be effective or last long enough.

well since i saw sony branded batteries on amazon for 7£ i assume that is a proper 1800Mah battery.

one that comes with psp1000 is 3.6v 1800Mah, your 3600Mah battery claim sounds like a bunch of BS as it wouldn't be possible to stuff that much into that tiny battery. 1800Mah lasts around 5-6hours of gaming, really depends on what you play. China makes all those 3600Mah 2200Mah etc. batteries which are actually barely half of the 1800Mah PSP comes with... seriously children, do some research. You'd need some serious prototype batteries to put 2x the capacity in the same space as the current batteries.

1800Mah is plenty, and if it is a decent branded battery it will at least last the 1800Mah claim and not die after 2hours like a good chinese piece of garbage.

Unless you got some extended battery with some chunky battery cover, very chunky, then yeah 3600Mah claim is plausible.

i got a normal psp battery, one from pisen(some chinese maker) for 7USD and it lasts as good as OEM one, also i got a battery for 4$ which claims 2200Mah, which hardly lasts 2hours.

That's a fake battery. Your 3600MAh was a fake too. Fake batteries are all well and good but that's what the kid with the exploding trousers thought before he blew.

It'll be hard to find a genuine Sony battery given the age of the PSP, but i'd recommend you at least get one of the third party peripheral packs, rather than some random Hong Kong chop shop botch job.

And Lithium batteries get old....sad but true they'll all start to lose their charge potential at some point.

So the 2200MAh batteries are fake?

1800Mah is cool, 2200Mah is plausible i guess, if you really tried. one i had was 1/2 foam+controller and other half a rather soviet tech looking battery. (like one of those retro sci-fi movie things, big and chunky yet useless.)

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY DID NOT CHANGE SH*T SINCE PSP WAS LAUNCHED, IT IS PRETTY MUCH SAME, SO THEY CANNOT STUFF TWICE THE CHARGE IN SAME SPACE USING SAME TECH. GET OVER IT!

i got a pisen from DX and it works more or less like original, probably best bet as even on amazon most of them got used reviews and most say the mighty 3600Mah last like 2hours tops, compared to 5hours out of the original one. seriously...

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/pisen-replacement-battery-for-psp-1000-1800mah-10535 works fine, own one, lasts 4-5hours. 2200Mah and 3600Mah is just gimmicks used by stupid chinese to fool even dumber 5year old kids to spend parents money. now would you please stop crapping about it? unless it is made by a respectable company, and you pay the extra, you will 99% of the time get a cheap piece of crap that hardly lives up to any expectations.

Now am i clear or do i need to clarify it again>? same as you cannot fit 2liters of water into 1 liter bottle, you cannot stuff twice the capacity in the same battery.

do you think the Battery i posted above is good?? i will get that battery soon before it out of stock...
Probably, I read that alot of the fake PSP batteries don't last as long as the default/standard 1200MAh batteries that come with the PSP so its hard to tell but as far as I know thats seems pretty good.

I'm buying a fake 2200MAh PSP battery off dealextreme not because I need it but y'know just in case and I heard that it only last about 2 hours on full charge so thats pretty crap (my standard 1200MAh PSP battery that came with my PSP lasts for about 4-5 hours)

I'd get an official battery if I were you. I bought a couple of non-official batteries years ago and most of them were unreliable and useless.

Worst part is there's no way to verify the capacity of the battery until you use a multimeter.

Better safe than pissed off.

Isn't it kinda hard to find a genuine PSP battery nowadays?

Well my local game shop carries a couple of them at any given time

I don't know if it's hard to find some online. If it is, then I retract my statement
